Here’s the deal: real growth happens when you push your boundaries.
For language learners like our LinguaLites, this could mean striking up a conversation with a native speaker, delivering a presentation in your target language (even just before your friends or relatives), or even tackling a challenging essay.
What is it that makes you nervous about language learning? Whatever it is, face it head-on!
Successful language learners take on a little challenge every Sunday. It might be nerve-wracking, but it’s worth it. Here are some of the ways to push yourself:
– Pick 10 new words and forc yourself to use them all in a conversation with a language partner. It is tough, but so rewarding!
– Attend a language meet-up and made it a point to chat with at least five different people. It can be daunting at first, but it gets easier with each conversation.
– Read a newspaper article on a complex topic in your target language. It might be your first time doing so, and while it’s challenging, it is also incredibly enlightening.
– Asked a friend for some brutally honest feedback on your pronunciation! It’s not easy to hear, but it’s exactly what you need to improve.
